Inside Business First: The Speech Bubble

We’re going Inside Business First again, for a chat with Imran Ullah-Khan, Director of Blackburn Business Centre tenants, The Speech Bubble, to find out a little bit more about them, what they do, and why they chose to base their company from Business First’s offices in Blackburn.

What does The Speech Bubble do?

“The Speech Bubble is an independent paediatric speech and language therapy practice, that has been working with schools and Local Authorities across the North West since 2003. We provide a complete range of specialist services.”

How did you hear about Business First, and what made you decide to base your company at our Blackburn offices?

“Our business has had a remarkable journey. You hear lots of companies talk about starting out in their garages, or whatever, but we literally did start from our kitchen table. We then moved to offices at the Darwen Academy.

“As our team grew, we needed a larger, more prestigious office and found Business First in Blackburn. When we were given our initial tour of the building, when we went to view the offices for the first time, we were really impressed with the standard of facilities, the location of the building and the price.

“We also found that Business First’s centre staff and managers were very friendly and professional, and always happy to help.”

When did you move into Business First’s Blackburn offices?

“We moved in, in the August of 2015 and have been here ever since. We have a 500 sq ft office here.”

What other benefits do you get from basing yourself from Business First?

“We use the meeting room and boardroom facilities quite a lot; they’re very well appointed. There’s plenty of free parking, which obviously is great, not just for us, but for our clients and visitors, too. In addition, I know it isn’t a ‘facility’, so to speak, we have great neighbours here.

“I think, in all honesty, for us, although the free facilities are a massive bonus, for us the two most important things about having our offices at Blackburn Business First are: the location and quality of the offices themselves, you couldn’t ask for a more professional environment; and the staff, who, as I mentioned, are absolutely fantastic!”

How has Business First helped your business to grow and operate successfully?

“We love the atmosphere and ambience around the Blackburn Business Centre. It’s populated by a lot of similar sized businesses who share our company ethos and work ethic. It also provides us with a really pleasant place to focus on our work and grow our business.

“We also love the fact that Business First provide tenants like us with loads of added value, for example, Business First will even go as far as helping us to promote our business; if there is a particular event or promotion that we’re running, Business First’s marketing team will send out our mail shots to their contact and tenant lists, helping us to reach a larger audience.”

Would you recommend Business First to other SMEs?

“Absolutely. Without hesitation!”

What’s next for The Speech Bubble?

“We’re hoping to up-size our offices over the next 18 months. And we’re exploring the idea of moving closer to Manchester as our team grows – we’re very pleased to hear that should we do this, we could even be able to stay with Business First, as they are in the process of building and opening a new Business Centre in Trafford Park.”
